"I'm here to make you feel better about yourselves", jokes Maryelle Turner. She does make everyone feel better as she sends audiences rolling in the aisles with laughter. Maryelle's absurd realities leave the crowd giddy. Her comedy filled with personal, light, sarcastic humor takes the audience on her silly journey. At a family function she is definitely the person you want to sit next to!
Maryelle has performed stand-up at top NYC Comedy Clubs, Comic Strip Live, Carolines, Stand-Up NY, Gotham, Comedy Cellar, New York Comedy Club, Broadway, Greenwich Village Comedy Club and Yonkers Comedy Club, Lucy's Laugh Lounge, Ha!Ridge Hill. Maryelle had a blast performing stand-up at the Yonkers Comedy Festival and also has performed at Ladies of Laughter, NY Underground Comedy Festival (2 yrs),Toyota Comedy Festival "New Faces" and "Italian American Comedy", "Hottest Women in Comedy " & "Cannoli & Cabbage" shows. Maryelle won the NoMa Comedy "September Comic of the Month". Maryelle is a Co-Producer and Host of Not Moms Comedy premiered in November 2017.
Maryelle Co-Created, Co-Wrote, Co-Produced and a main character in campy sitcom "Diner NYC"; script pilot 2nd runner-up Montreal Comedy Festival's "Just for Pitching". Maryelle wrapped up a role as a main character in sitcom pilot "The Bistro" premiered at the Global Revolution Film Festival. Maryelle acted, principal role, in indie feature “Raise Your Kids on Seltzer” premiered at the New Parkway Theatre in San Francisco. Maryelle acted in comedic, principal role, for sitcom pilot “Open House”. Maryelle has acted in numerous comedy pilots & indies and Monsterfest "Short Screamers" television promo on AMC Network. Maryelle played one of the wives in short comedy "Joseph's Wives". Also had a ball playing “Ass Smacked Woman” in Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn produced feature comedy “Staten Island Summer”. Maryelle optioned a short comedy script she co-wrote to an independent production company in California. Maryelle has been cast in a principal role in an indie feature drama to film in California.
Prior to stand-up comedy, Maryelle performed sketch comedy with "Anybody Home? starring the PMS Players" being Carolines "House Sketch Group" at Carolines on Broadway, Carolines Comedy Nation, Carolines & Comic Bible's "Funny Shorts Film Festival", Carolines & Comic Bible's "Sketch Off Festival", Carolines Presents Comic Bible's "Laughter for a Good Cause", Toyota Comedy Festival, PSA for Epilepsy Foundation, top NYC Comedy Clubs and on the streets of NYC raising money for "Comic Relief". Maryelle is a trained actress in Meisner Technique, studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute, improv at UCB and a member of SAG-AFTRA.
